Design Intention
Longevity and resistance to corrosion was the primary focus of this design. Materials have been chosen, treated, and separated from each other in a manner that will inhibit galvanic corrosion. Stainless steel, copper, zinc-coated steel, and PETG plastic are all utilised.
The aesthetic design of this bird feeder is intended to elevate its value beyond something purely functional and present as a sculptural centrepiece.

The lid to the reservoir is isolated from the copper body by a PETG cradle.
Most bird feeder designs require some degree of dismantling or at least removal from their point of installation in order to refill the seed. This design offers a quick and easy solution to refilling that can be performed in situ.

The bird feeder is simple to construct and all components are able to be separated for repairability or recycling come end of life.
